Strategic Insight Analyst

Data, applied where it matters

Use valuable insights to drive business performance.

Location:

Penrose, Auckland

Work Type:

Hybrid, with regular on-site collaboration preferred

The Role

This role turns complex analysis into clear, compelling insight. As a Strategic Insight Analyst, you’ll work across strategy, finance and analytics to frame business challenges, evaluate the implications and shape recommendations for decision-makers.

You’ll collaborate closely with our finance and data specialists to ensure every recommendation is grounded in robust analysis. You’ll then translate that analysis into persuasive narratives, practical options and presentations that resonate with both executives and operational teams.

Your work may influence decisions at the boardroom table, during commercial negotiations and throughout critical planning processes. You’ll gain exposure across different industries in New Zealand and internationally, with meaningful ownership of your work from initial question through to delivered insight.

What you’ll do

  • Synthesise inputs from data, finance, operations and client discussions into one coherent strategic view.
  • Identify the findings that matter most and clearly communicate their commercial implications.
  • Develop practical, evidence-based recommendations that support confident decision-making.
  • Design executive-ready presentations and persuasive strategic narratives.
  • Translate complex technical and financial analysis into language that resonates with different audiences.
  • Support client meetings, workshops and insight-discovery sessions.
  • Help frame strategic options and evaluate their financial, commercial and operational consequences.
  • Work closely with our finance and data teams to ensure recommendations are grounded in robust analysis.
  • Support senior team members in preparing for important client discussions and delivering key insights.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to bring structure to complex or ambiguous problems.
  • The ability to synthesise different sources of information into a clear and defensible point of view.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Confidence translating complex analysis into simple, compelling messages without losing important nuance.
  • Sound commercial judgement and an understanding of business fundamentals, including performance drivers, return on investment and value creation.
  • Confidence engaging with clients, building rapport and contributing to productive discussions.
  • Strong presentation capability, including proficiency with tools such as PowerPoint and Miro.
  • The ability to connect insights across strategy, finance, analytics and operations.
  • A curious, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
  • Comfort working in a small, high-trust team where you own outcomes end to end.

The role will likely suit someone with approximately three to six years of relevant experience, although capability, judgement and potential matter more than years on paper. Experience in consulting, corporate strategy, commercial analysis or business advisory would be valuable but is not essential.
