The Role

You’ll work across data engineering, analytics modelling, automation and light visualisation to develop reliable, scalable solutions for clients in New Zealand and internationally.

Your role will extend beyond preparing data or building reports. You’ll seek to understand the question behind each request, challenge assumptions where appropriate and ensure the technical solution supports a meaningful business outcome.

What you’ll do

• Build scalable ETL pipelines and automated data workflows.
• Clean, integrate and validate data from multiple systems and sources.
• Develop reliable data models, warehouses and analytical datasets.
• Establish strong data-quality, reconciliation and assurance processes.
• Improve the speed, reliability and cost-effectiveness of analytics solutions.
• Document solutions with reusability, maintainability and auditability in mind.
• Translate technical outputs into clear, decision-ready insight.
• Work closely with our strategy and finance team to connect data with client priorities.

What we’re looking for

• Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines, automated workflows and reliable datasets.
• Strong capability in SQL, data modelling and data preparation.
• Experience with tools such as Power BI, DAX, Python, APIs, dbt or cloud data platforms.
• A disciplined approach to data quality, documentation and performance optimisation.
• Curiosity about the business context and the purpose behind the analysis.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working in a small, high-trust team where you own outcomes end to end.

Approximately three to six years of relevant experience would be useful, but demonstrated capability, judgement and potential matter more than a particular background or qualification.
