Strategic Data Analyst
Engineer Insight, Enable Strategy, and Shape the Future with EP
Location: Mt Wellington, Auckland | Work Type: Hybrid (On-site preferred)
Potential for Domestic and International Travel
About Us
At EP, we’re a tight-knit & high-performing team operating at the intersection of strategy, finance, and data. We deliver clarity in chaos and real impact — not in months, but in weeks. Our clients don’t come to us for reports; they come for solutions no one else can see, powered by an approach that’s ahead of its time.
We combine business acumen, financial precision, and next-gen data capabilities in ways even top global players are still catching up to. Here, you won’t be a small cog in a big machine — you’ll help build the machine.
If you’re driven to make things better, faster, and smarter — and want:
Real influence on strategy and outcomes,
Frontline exposure where your work changes decisions,
A world-class team without red tape or politics,
And the chance to help shape an organisation from the ground up.
Then this isn’t just another job. It’s an opportunity to change the game.
The Opportunity
As a Strategic Data Analyst, you’ll be a key member of our growing Data Team, developing world-class analytics and insights capabilities that deliver measurable impact for clients across industries — both here in New Zealand and internationally.
Your role will involve:
Data engineering (ETL, automation, data preparation)
Data analysis and modelling
Light data visualisation and technical storytelling
You’ll gain exposure to both technical problem-solving and the strategic “why” behind every project — working closely with our Strategy Team to ensure data drives real-world outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines and automated workflows
Develop and maintain robust data models and warehouses
Ensure high standards of data accuracy, validation, and quality assurance
Optimise performance across analytics builds — balancing speed, storage, and cost
Document processes with a focus on reusability and auditability
Engage with the business context — always asking “why” to deliver smarter solutions
Collaborate with the Strategy Team to ensure technical outputs align with client needs
[Optional] Conduct quantitative analysis to support strategic initiatives, where aligned with your skills and interests
